Might take a stab at this once I figure out exactly what kind of thing I should be doing with it.

So, just grab Kita's original and mess with it, then upload the whole thing?  Is chopping/resequencing of the original allowed?

...meh, I'll never get around to it anyways, I'm sure...

The original idea was to add complimentary parts to the song and render them individually as .wav files (not rendered over the original). The bits and pieces would then be sequenced into one collaborative song.

I realize that this is completely contradictory to what k31 is suggesting.  :-\  Perhaps we can utilize his idea as well with a different loop to start with.

maybe we do both? we can sequence samples from different artists together, but specific artists' styles will be more prominent in some parts? Kyle Ward's duality, but more interconnected between sections
