How to make kicks #1 - Hardstyle kick+bass
« on: January 15, 2009, 06:55:50 PM »
Keep in mind that I'm not really good at tutorials :V

All you need for this is a sampler and 2 kick samples.
One of them should be relatively short, yet has a reasonable amount of bass eq. That is the kick. The other one should have a long "tail end" to it and its freq range is preferrably lower than the first one. That is the bass.

To make kick #2 the bass, you would have to make the kick fade in. Adjust the in knob so it will fade in, and maybe adjust the delay. Also Turn on "normalize".

Now test the kick-bass by playing them together. If the bass comes too early, adjust the delay.

Load kick #2 into an effect channel and add a distortion effect such as Fast Dist or Bloody Overdrive, and filter high frequencies to give the bass a flavor.

Then adjust frequencies for kick #1 and that's it!
