Keeping Your Artist Page Nice and Tidy
« on: January 13, 2009, 09:50:54 PM »
As Synius noted, keep all of your works to one thread. To prevent other users from having to filter through posts to find a track you've plugged somewhere, I'll suggest a common format for artist pages:

The first post contains basically everything. Start with:

Names/Pseudonyms, and the genres they encompass.
Amount of Experience
Programs
Favorite Instruments/Synthesized Sounds/VST's
Influences

Links to your personal sites, blogs, forums, or pages containing multiple songs of yours. For instance, Acidplanet, Myspace, Facebook Pages, Soundclick. List these links in order of most to least updated, and try to hyperlink. You can Hyperlink by embedding a URL into text like this: {url=(insert url here, no parentheses or spaces)}Like this{/url}. Just, replace the curly brackets with square brackets. Like this.

Songs/Albums

Links to individual song or album downloads should come after. In order from most to least recent, list songs or albums that become released over time. So with each new song or album you release, put it on top of the list by editing the first post. Hyperlink too; the embedded words should include the title of the song/album as well as the date posted. For instance:

Soar; June 11, 2007

That's just an example. Don't actually listen to that; it's my first song. Well, I guess nothing can stop you now! :)

After you edit the first post with a link to your newest creation, just bump your topic with "Updated" or "New Song". Feel free to discuss these individual songs, albums, or anything related to your music in your thread, of course.
