From computer, to etch-a-sketch.

ALRIGHT SO FOR THIS TUTORIAL YOU WILL NEED:

Windows.
A midi controller with at least two knobs.
Some kind of paint program
GlovePIE
Some knowledge on how MIDI works

OKAY SO

First, boot windows.

Second connect midi controller

Download GlovePIE and make a script, the one I used was

  • Mouse.x = Midi.Control14
  • Mouse.y = Midi.Control21
  • Mouse.LeftButton = midi.Control23
  • Mouse.RightButton = Midi.Control24
  • mouse.MiddleButton = Midi.control25

Now, you can copy this code, just replace the number after Midi.Control with the CC# for the knob you want to use for whatever value.

Then run, test, if it doesn't work, keep tweaking it, if it does not work and you cannot move your mouse via the mouse, press Shift+P+I+E
Repeat until it works.

Next you will want to open up a painting program, I used MS paint.

Enjoy your low resolution etch-a-sketch.
